Unique Camps Your Kids Can Host to Make a Little Extra Cash This Summer

“Summa summa summa time!!” All the kids are home and getting along and cleaning up after themselves and choosing kindness all day!!! HAhahahhahahaha! I mean, maybe that’s what your house looks like, our house, however, is just doing its best to hold it together! Don’t get me wrong, my kids are friends, and we have fun scheduled, and extra time scheduled too–a little too much extra time can be tricky though.

So, if you find that your kids are in need of an occupation this summer, here are 3 fun and unique camps that they can put on for other kids in the neighborhood, or in your friend group, to help create fun experiences and generate a little extra spending cash!!

1.A baking camp!! My 13 year old daughter is putting on a baking camp next week!! She chose 3 fun and easy recipes to do with some 6-9 year old kids and has been planning out her time for it! They’ll bake and decorate and go home with a sample of what they baked and the recipe to use for the future! The response has been great and she is so excited to share something she loves with others!

2.Sewing Camp!! This can include something as simple as having kids bring fabric to tie quilts, or learning to cross stitch, knit or crochet! This is something that I’m not great at, but my daughter learned from a neighbor and I have loved that she enjoys it!

3.Music camp!! Does your kid love music? Do they want to try out some different instruments, learn to read music, or even learn to dance? If your kids are good at any of these things they’ll totally rock this camp!! Have them teach a dance and learn rhythm and style for an hour or 2. Or learn tips and tricks for sight reading!! Either of these versions of a music camp is a fantastic way to let your kids be creative in a semi-structured way in the summer time!!

If you are unsure if your kids could put together a camp for more than an hour, make it an hour of a skill and an hour of water fun!! The summer time is such a great time to try new things and improve on talents that they’ve been considering but maybe haven’t had the opportunity during the school year! Remember to get the word out with a cute little digital flier and be sure to be within earshot during the camps, in case they need a little extra support!

Here’s to creativity and more fun while your kids develop their own talents this summer and maybe argue just a little less.
