3 Ways to Use That Extra Pie Dough!!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that means PIE!!! We love pie around here and whether we make the dough from scratch or buy it at the store, we always have a little extra. Here are some fun (and delicious) ways to use it!!

1- Apple Nachos!!! This is a fun and healthy(ish) snack/appetizer/dessert to mix things up!

Roll the pie crust out, cut it up, cook as directed and put it on a platter for apple nachos!! We love using a mixture of Honeycrisp and Granny Smith apples! The crunchiness of the Honeycrisp and the tartness of Granny Smith make for great “nachos.”

Cut the apples into thin slices and spread them out on a platter. Intersperse them with the cooked pie crust chips you’ve let cool down.

Pour caramel and chocolate sauce over the top!

Sprinkle cinnamon chips, mini marshmallows, and mini chocolate chips over the top. Get creative! There is no wrong way to make these! My daughter loves to include dollops of peanut butter on top too. Protein, see, we are all about health food over here!!

Put these out to share and see how they disappear in no time! Totally healthy (C’MON–apples!!!) and a fun way to mix up dessert and appetizers!

2-Spread some cinnamon and sugar on it!! Roll out that dough, cut it into slices, brush a little bit of butter on top and sprinkle it with cinnamon and sugar! I have fond memories of my mom doing this and we’d all rush to have our own slice! So fun!

3-Try these miniature apple pies!! These are so fun to make and only require just a little bit of pie crust!!

And, if you’re kids are like mine and want in on their own baking, you can just let them use cookie cutters to create a fun scene with the crust that’s left over or that you’ve set aside for them!

Happy Thanksgiving, and happy baking!!!
