Educational Ideas Fundamentals Just an Idea Memory Makers

Great Gifts for Graduates! (From a Variety of Budgets)

Wow! It’s that crazy time of year when all things are in commotion if you have school age kids. There are all of the end of the year concerts, performances and tests. Chances are you may have a child, neighbor or friend who is graduating. Need a good gift idea? Here are a few stellar ones for a kind gift to give them!

We will start with gifts that maybe parents or grandparents can consider for the grad, and then explore ideas for good friends and neighbors. You choose what gift will suit best. Hooray for the graduate!

1. A new laptop or tablet, one they can use for college. This is the gift we have given to our own kids upon High School graduation and it has turned out fantastically. We have a couple kids who have gone on to serve two year missions right out of high school. For them, we waited until after they got back to purchase the computer so they could have the current technology.

2. A trip of the Graduates choice! This is a fun one for grandparents to help with or parents who want to involve the whole family. My brother and sister in law took their whole family to Europe before their son graduated. Their second son wants to go to Egypt. We have friends who have taken a trip to NYC to check out Broadway and the sites. This idea is awesome because it is a gift that is all about experience! These gifts make amazing memories! What about a weekend beach trip? Create what would best suit your graduate! Peek here for a way to make the pictures into memories!

3. Probably one of the most helpful gifts that can accommodate any budget is CASH! Graduates are often broke and are about to spend all sorts of money for higher education! There are all sorts of presentations for this: a cash necklace, a cash cake, but remember some cash in a kindly written card is timeless and perfect!

You can buy textbooks at Amazon!

4. Similar to cash and certainly super easy is an Amazon Gift Card. Not only can an Amazon gift card be used to buy new things for their college dorm, but many college textbooks are also available on Amazon! This gift is perfect for your graduate whether they are college bound or off to explore for a year!

5. Looking for something different for a graduate you are close to? We are big on experiences! Make a memory with that graduate. Take a day and create a adventurous memory. We recently tried out a ropes course that was a couple hours from our house–that would be a PERFECT adventure for many graduates. There is also ziplining, Rock Climbing gyms or sign up for a one day community course for something fun like a cooking class so that your graduate has other options besides ramen and pizza to survive! More ideas here for amazing experiences!

6. An embroidered blanket, towel or bag. Check out this fun blanket that my son’s volleyball team made for each of the seniors! So Perfect! A personalized gift is so thoughtful. AND if you haven’t prepared one and you feel that you need something sooner, try printing a picture of the blanket so you still have something to give that let’s the grad know to expect something amazing!

A book for the Graduate

7. Your favorite book! Now that the graduate will be leaving their home, they will start forming their own little library, and your favorite book could give variety to all the textbooks! Here’s a favorite book for graduates. But don’t forget something like The Slight Edge or Atomic Habits!

8. A Gift Basket of Laundry Supplies! Or a kitchen supply basket! That graduate might look at you sideways, but a few months later will be thanking your cleverness!

9. A grocery store gift card in the city they will live! Most of these gift cards are available online!

10. If all of these are out of your budget, then please remember a hand written card telling the graduate what you like the best about them and your hopes for them for the future is priceless and powerful!

Happy gifting and my all these new graduates add beauty to this world!
