Evidence of a Good Life: An Easy Solution to Boost Happiness!

Have you made some stellar memories with your loved ones lately? Any hikes or fun weekend trips? If not perhaps you are due for some fun! 😉 Any way you choose to have fun, let me share with you how I step it up a notch so that the happiness lasts!

This last holiday season, we realized there were going to be fewer members of our family together with us on Christmas morning! Fewer people at first seemed lackluster and a little melancholy. Maybe that was one way to look at it, but soon we realized with fewer people, it would be completely doable to go skiing! This changed the whole trajectory of our day. Instead of missing people for our Christmas morning, we made a stellar new memory and had so much fun! But that memory is not over! We have stretched that memory out by taking those pictures (not just leaving them on our phones) and creating a collage page to display in our home as a happy reminder of good times.

Oh man I really love an easy solution that actually works! And this one does!

Photos of good times are a perfect reminder of fun during long days of work, homework, deadlines and etc.! Smiling faces of your loved ones are an immediate lift.

So here’s the recipe for making lasting memories.

  1. Plan the activity (Sledding trip, local hike, Bob Ross painting activity or etc.)
  2. While doing the activity snap a few pictures! 5 or more is ideal!
  3. After the activity drag and drop those photos into a collage template (I do 12 x 12)
  4. Print the collage
  5. Hang up the collage for all to see and remember the good times.

I use a super simple app, Project Life, on my phone that allows me to choose the photos and drop them into the collage. The app is free, but the decorative digital papers and elements will cost you a couple dollars. It seriously takes 5 minutes, I often create it in the car on the way back from the event if my hubby is driving! Then I send my collage page to be printed. You can print it as soon as today or send it away to your favorite photo lab. I have printed at Walmart, Costco, Walgreens and Persnickety Prints. I have also found collage picture templates available at most photo printers including Walmart, Walgreens, Costco and more.

I have used these photo pages in classroom projects and display tables for my kids. They come in handy! But the handiest thing I have found about them is to bring a cheerful smile to members of my family in the remembering of the joy! Cheesy yes, but beautifully true! 🙂

This making of a simple photo page goes perfectly with Kayleen’s article about making memories for birthdays this year! Make some happy new memories with your child for their birthday, but also make a page from it, frame it and stick it in their room for a perfect keepsake. You can easily replace those collage pages as you update memories, and slide those pages into a book. You just created a memory book a page at a time!

Additional Tip: These pages framed make a great birthday gift for a best friend! Just drag and drop a collage of your favorite memories, print and gift those framed happy memories. Hooray.

Done and done! Now get out there and make some memories!
