Giving Your Door a Little Halloween Spirit!

I absolutely love Halloween!! It is the time of year that I can dress up with my kids and no one will look at me sideways ;), HA! But really, it is when imaginations run wild and my kids all get excited for the various decorations that we put up!! They love it all, but most especially love it when we take these guys out!

We love these giant googly eyes! You can get them in various sizes and we definitely put them in all the places!!

One of our favorite traditions for Halloween is to decorate our doors! It all starts with these guys, although you could definitely make different eyes with construction paper or the like.

Then get out some craft paper and start creating the face that you want. We like to use painter’s tape so as not to ruin the paint on the door. You can use scotch tape or masking tape just fine as well.

I let my kids decide what to make. There is always some trial and error.

We ended up making a skeleton, although we had planned to make something different.

We’ve used green crepe paper for hair and made Frankenstein a few times. Vampires are also popular around here. Or just a face with stitches.

This can be done on the outside of the front door, or the inside, the garage is a fun place too!! Without kids this will take you 15 minutes if you already have the materials handy. With kids it can take up to 45 min if you let them do it on their own. But really, it mostly take about 30 minutes and is filled with excitement and joy! So worth it!

This is such a fun and simple family project that always gets the kids sharing their opinion and helping each other out. My kids love decorating their bedroom doors as well! So grab some eyes and start creating!!
