Be sure to make enough for the gifts and all the snacking people that will inevitably visit the kitchen while you are creating this yumminess!

Homemade Zebra Popcorn

Kettle corn drizzled with milk chocolate & white chocolate! Yum!

Equipment

  • Whirly Pop Popcorn Maker
  • Chocolate Melting Pot (or double boiler)

Ingredients

Kettle Corn in Whirly Pop (per batch)

  • 3 Tbsp Coconut Oil I just estimate the scoop
  • 1/2 cup Popcorn kernels
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar

Drizzles for Popcorn

  • 2 cups Milk Chocolate Add 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil to get to a thinner consistency.
  • 1 1/2 cups White Chocolate Choose one with cocoa butter!
  • 1/2 cup miniature semi sweet chocolate chips This is optional, or you can add roasted pecan pieces or the like!

Instructions

  • Place Whirly Pop on stove top and turn on medium heat. Have a large bowl ready to turn out the hot popcorn.
  • Add coconut oil to the warming pan and allow to melt (this gets faster as you make additional batches and the pan is hot!)
  • Pour in Popcorn Kernels and stir the Whirly Pop
  • Once you hear one pop or two, immediately pour in the sugar, so it can melt and coat the popcorn as it pops. Stir Constantly!
  • After the flurry of constant popping dies down, pour out the popcorn into the waiting bowl! Hooray! You have one batch, You will want about 3-5 batches prepared before drizzling the popcorn with chocolate! This will produce approximately 6-8 3 cup portions to gift or eat!

Drizzling the Chocolate

  • Cover 2 (or more) cookie sheets with parchment paper for easy clean up!
  • Pour popcorn onto the cookie sheets.
  • REMOVE UNPOPPED Kernels! It only takes a few minutes, but improves your end result!
  • Use spoon to drizzle chocolate over popcorn. Be generous! Don't be worried of a few big dollops of chocolate fall onto the popcorn, it's part of the charm.
  • Drizzle white chocolate.
  • Sprinkle mini semi sweet chips, or chopped pecan pieces!
  • Allow Chocolate to set. If you are in a hurry, you can place the pan in the refrigerator.
  • When chocolate is set feel free to place in a jar, container or plastic bag with ribbons! Now gift away, or feel free to enjoy!
Zebra Popcorn to gift

To create this recipe, I used the whirly pop and the Wilton chocolate melter! If you love popcorn and don’t have a whirly pop, you are missing out! We’ve had this one for easily 10 years, and love it! You have heard me talk about the chocolate melting pot before! It melts the chocolate and makes your job easier! You can melt the chocolate while creating the popcorn! Worth it! See you soon friends! If you follow our link and buy something from Amazon from our site, a few pennies kick back to us.
