Priceless Christmas Gifts–Captured Memories in a Book!

Not sure what to get someone this Christmas? Try a memory book!! We have shared these fun photobooks that I make for my husband for Father’s Day. Which, really, could be given for Christmas as well! But some of our absolute favorite presents to both receive and give, are photo books! What kind of photobooks? So glad you asked! There are so many options!

  1. A year captured in a photobook. You know the one we all aspire to do for our baby’s first year of life? I usually have it done by the time my kids are 3, but hey, it gets done! One of my sisters in law does a photobook once a year. She puts together the pictures from the year and just places them all in a book. Minimal captions, just a place to see where they have been that year. This, of course, is a special kind of journal. The kids look at these books fondly and often. The parents and grandparents do as well!

2. End of an era photobook! 5th or 6th grade graduation? Put together photos from your child’s elementary school days. 8th grade promotion? Middle school captured in a book! Not a fan of either of those? Do one for your child’s high school graduation! When my oldest was in 6th grade I sent an email to all of his teachers and asked them to write him a letter or little note. I put them together along with pictures from elementary school and gave it to him…for Christmas! It was unexpected and he LOVED it. It went over so well, that I decided to do it for all my kids….someone please remind me to do it for my youngest, I hear they are the ones that often get lost in the fray! HA!! 😉

3. A photobook to celebrate an anniversary. My father put together a photobook for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. My mother had Alzheimer’s, so this book was especially sweet for us kids to see pictures from their younger years and wedding. He gifted each of us a copy of this book in Christmas of 2013. In May of 2015 he passed away. That book is such a treasure to us now! I am so grateful that my children have access to those pictures and that we can share with them a little bit of their family history through that book! Not to mention the amazing hairstyles and clothing they are rocking in it!!

4. A Question and Answer Memory book. This one is not a photobook, but is just as fun! Gift a loved one a journal in which they can answer questions about themselves. Help capture those experiences and memories that may not be known by their loved ones! There are several of these types of books out there, but here is one we like! This makes a great gift for anyone, but most especially parents, in-laws, and grandparents!!

5. Remember how important it is to take family pictures?? Why not put them all together in a photo book as a keepsake for your adult children?! How great to have them in one place for their kids to look back on!!

Christmas is sneaking up on us and these gifts take some forethought, but pack a serious sentimental punch! So give yourself some time to get it done! Some great websites to put together photobooks are Shutterfly, Mixbook, and Costco!! They all make beautiful end products!!

Giving gifts is always fun during the holidays, however, the gifts in which we’ve invested some time and love are the ones that are most meaningful! So get started today and share the love!!
